Colorado Jam Camp Weekend

Jamming and Band Skills Camp for Intermediates, *see qualifications below

Class style instruction and coached small groups, morning till dinnertime. Three days and nights of playing music in an ideal "springtime in the Rockies" setting!

$225 tuition (A deposit of $95 is required).

Staying at the ranch not required, but special pricing to jam campers:
$235 per room for three nights in the Wagon Wheel Lodge at the Sylvan Dale Ranch includes full breakfast. Limited space.

  • Thursday check-in starting 3pm, check out by 11am Sunday or Monday.
  • Game room and social rooms, over 1000 acres of ranch accessible after hours.
  • Rooms have no phones or TV! (Wifi and cell phone reception, and 24-hour land line on site).

Lunch and dinner meal plans available, or eat offsite, or BYO. Reserve in advance.

Pete and Joan Teaching

Each day will include class instruction by Pete, plus small group jamming coached by Pete and Joan Wernick and Hereford Percy.
Band dynamics and backup, ear skills, musicianship, harmony singing, practice techniques, performing skills (optional), breakout sessions for instrument instruction.
Sunday afternoon Jam Camp Jamboree will showcase the jam groups.

To qualify:

  • Jamming experience
  • Ability to stay in rhythm and follow chords
  • Willingness to sing
  • For banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and dobro players, the willingness/ability to "fake" basic solos
  • Fast playing not required
  • Most graduates of a Pete Wernick Jam Camp would qualify
